Keeping a balance between work and play is important and having friends and family out for brunch on a Sunday is a great way to relax, catch up and have some fun. We enjoy cooking and baking and have developed a brunch repertoire that includes quiche, fresh blueberry or raspberry scones, sourdough cheese bread, muffins, lettuce and fruit salads, and fresh squeezed OJ + bubbly for Mimosas. Fresh cut flowers from the garden and a special Brunch playlist from Spotify add to the ambience.

It’s an enjoyable way to start a Sunday and it leaves the afternoon for exploring the property and the surrounding area. Trails have been cut using the tractor and bush hog, and a typical walk starts with a loop around the west side of the property then up the hill to take in views of Lake Ontario and High Bluff Island in the distance, and then onto the centre section where a majestic white pine looks over a pasture area and further to what will eventually become a large berry patch. From there we head to the property’s highest elevation on the east side with views of a pasture below and the plots that will become the market gardens beyond that.

Jack McFadden, Main Street Antique Outlet
For anyone in the mood for antiquing, the Main Street Antique Outlet, just 2 minutes to the east is a must visit, and another favourite is 1812 Antiques in Grafton. If light exercise is in order the quiet country roads found all around the farm are perfect for biking, and Presqu'ile Provincial Park on Lake Ontario is 5 minutes away with trails and beaches to enjoy. For those who feel like a wine tour it’s an easy and scenic trip over to Prince Edward County where the many wineries, art galleries and shops can be explored.
